New Delhi: TV actor Simran Budharup, known for her role in Kumkum Bhagya, recently visited Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. However, what was meant to be a spiritual visit turned into a “really disheartening experience,” as she described in a detailed Instagram post.
Simran shared that a security personnel aggressively snatched her mother’s phone while she was trying to take a photo in the queue, despite it being her turn for darshan. In her post, she wrote, “A man from the organization snatched my mother’s phone while she was clicking a picture… when she tried to retrieve it, he pushed her.”
The situation escalated when Simran intervened, stating that the bouncers “rough-handled” her. She captured the incident on video, shouting “Mat Karo! Kya kar rahe ho aap.” It was only when the staff realized she was an actor that they backed off.
Simran used her platform to raise awareness about the mistreatment, emphasizing that devotees visit holy places for blessings, not aggression. She added, “It’s the staff’s responsibility to maintain order without misbehaving or harming devotees.”

In her post, Simran urged event organizers to ensure better treatment of visitors, hoping that her story serves as a “wake-up call” for creating a more respectful and safe environment for everyone.
Celebrities like Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, and Esha Deol were among the many who visited Lalbaugcha Raja this year for Ganesh Chaturthi.
