Haryana, August 09, 2024: FUJIFILM India, a leader in Healthcare, Imaging, Electronics, and Business Innovation, has launched the “Rooting for a Greener Tomorrow” Tree Plantation Initiative, as part of its ongoing efforts to combat climate change and contribute to society through its recent CSR activities. This initiative aligns with the company’s Group Purpose of “Giving Our World More Smiles” and is instrumental in advancing the Sustainable Value Plan 2030 of FUJIFILM Group. The tree plantation drive took place at the Government School in Jajru, covering approximately 44,000 square feet of land. The event was supported by a team of 50 volunteers from FUJIFILM India’s head office, alongside enthusiastic participation from the school’s staff and students.
The initiative aims to preserve the environment, raise awareness among citizens, and emphasize the importance of planting native trees to curb rising pollution in urban areas. The dedicated volunteers planted a total of 100 diverse trees, including Harsingar, Alba Champa, Jamun, Kadamb, Mohgani, Kathal, and Moringa, with a commitment to ensure 0% mortality and ongoing care under the students’ supervision.
Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, shared, “Our Group Purpose at FUJIFILM India, ‘Giving Our World More Smiles,’ is about bringing together diverse ideas, unique capabilities, and extraordinary people to make a positive impact. This tree plantation event was a wonderful opportunity for our employees to engage with the community and contribute to environmental sustainability. The rainy season in India is ideal for planting trees, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating alongside the students.”
Mr. Abhi Shekhar Singh, Vertical Head of Corporate Communications & CSR at FUJIFILM India, added, “At FUJIFILM India, our CSR focus extends to public health, particularly through our TB Screening Campaign in Gujarat. However, environmental stewardship is also a crucial part of our Sustainable Value Plan 2030, which guides us toward becoming a company that contributes to creating a sustainable society. This tree plantation drive is a small step towards sensitizing our employees to environmental issues while also supporting the FUJIFILM Model School program in Jajru, which we’ve been involved with since 2023.”
FUJIFILM India’s ongoing efforts at the FUJIFILM India Model School began with infrastructure development in 2023 and continue with meaningful initiatives like this tree plantation drive, aimed at bringing More Smiles to children’s faces and creating a healthier environment for their future.
