Financial Independence for Women: Inside the Bima Sakhi Yojana

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: The central government is running many schemes for the citizens of the country. In this episode, a new scheme is being brought to empower women. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ during his Haryana visit on Monday (December 9). Through this scheme, the government is trying to empower women and promote financial inclusion.

In a statement issued by the PMO, it has been told that ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ is an initiative of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). This scheme will be launched in Panipat. Through ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’, empowerment of women between the ages of 18 and 70 who have passed 10th will be strengthened. ”

Special training and stipend for 3 years

The statement further said that under this scheme, women will be given special training and stipend for the first 3 years to promote financial literacy and insurance awareness.

Opportunity to become from LIC agent to development officer

After training, women can work as LIC agents and graduate insurance sakhis will also get an opportunity to work in the role of development officer in LIC. Prime Minister Modi will also distribute appointment certificates to future insurance sakhis.

Will get 7 thousand rupees per month

At the beginning of this scheme, women will be given 7 thousand rupees every month. In the second year, this amount will be increased to 6000 rupees and in the third year, 5000 rupees will be given every month. Those insurance sakhis who will complete their target will also be given a separate commission. In the first phase of the scheme, 35 thousand women will be given employment as insurance agents. Later, 50 thousand more women will be given benefits under the scheme.
