How 8 International Athletes Elevated Vidyut Jammwal’s Action Spectacle
In the upcoming action sports drama Crakk, Vidyut Jammwal not only stars but also produces, ensuring authenticity in every frame. Director Aditya Datt shares the journey of how he brought together a team of international athletes to push the boundaries of adventure sports on screen.
“After scouring over 200 athletes worldwide, we hand-picked what I call ‘The super eight’,” reveals Datt. These athletes, along with Jammwal, undertake a series of death-defying sports, from rock climbing to downhill mountain biking, each scene meticulously crafted for maximum adrenaline.
The octet of athletes includes experts like South Africa’s Alfonso Orosco in slacklining, American freerunner Kacper Lipski, China’s martial arts specialist Liana Hu, and Russia’s Parkour artist Katarzyna, among others.
Prior to filming, Datt ensured the safety and authenticity of his cast by providing extensive training. “Vidyut and the eight athletes spent over 30 days in Poland honing their skills and perfecting the stunts,” Datt explains. This period not only built trust but also facilitated skill sharing, essential for the seamless execution of high-octane action sequences.
Alongside Jammwal and the athletes, Crakk features a stellar cast including Arjun Rampal, Nora Fatehi, and Amy Jackson, promising an adrenaline-pumping cinematic experience.
“Crakk – Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa!” produced by Vidyut Jammwal and Action Hero Films, directed and written by Aditya Datt, is set to hit theaters on 23rd February 2024.
