Aiming for ₹780 Crore Milestone Globally

Director Sukumar’s action-drama Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, continues its box office dominance. After surpassing the lifetime collection of Pushpa: The Rise (₹350.1 crore) within just two days, the film is expected to cross the ₹780 crore global gross mark today. Following its exceptional Saturday performance, the film is maintaining its momentum on Sunday, indicating it may soon breach the ₹1,000 crore milestone.

Domestic Box Office Report

As of 4 PM on Sunday, Pushpa 2 had earned ₹79.59 crore in India, bringing its total domestic net collection to ₹467.54 crore, according to Sacnilk.

  • Telugu Market: The film recorded a 72.29% occupancy rate overall, with morning shows at 57.91% and afternoon shows peaking at 86.67%.
  • Hindi Market: The Hindi version showed remarkable performance with a 78.76% occupancy rate, with morning and afternoon shows registering 65.46% and 92.06%, respectively.

Saturday’s Record-Breaking Collection

On Saturday, Pushpa 2 garnered ₹119.25 crore domestically across its Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions, contributing ₹73.5 crore, ₹35 crore, ₹8.1 crore, ₹1.85 crore, and ₹0.8 crore, respectively. The film became the fastest to cross ₹500 crore globally on the same day.

Historic Opening Day Performance

The film earned an unprecedented ₹294 crore worldwide on its first day, setting a new record for the highest opening in Indian cinema, surpassing SS Rajamouli’s RRR (₹223 crore).

Critical Reception and Cast Highlights

Despite its commercial success, the film received mixed reviews. The Indian Express reviewer Anandu Suresh rated it 2.5/5, noting struggles with high expectations but praising the performances of Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil.

The film also features Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Rao Ramesh. The background score and soundtrack are composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with additional music by Sam CS, and lyrics by Chandrabose.

Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to captivate audiences globally, setting benchmarks for Indian cinema’s commercial success.
